Together we completely redesigned the way the Care Home consumed energy.
Our first step was solar - a cost effective, fast-repaying system to cover the bulk of their electric consumption. We initially installed 21kWp of Solar, along with a SolarEdge inverter system - we chose this as there were multiple different roof aspects and foliage at the time that would shade the panels.
We then planned to replace the multiple gas boilers with electric, infrared heating, as well as two electric water heaters by Sunamp - these heat water the same way those hand warmers work, by 'charging up' on solar energy, and then discharging over time.
Then in 2025, with an extension to the care home adding 4 new modern and stylish bedrooms, Oliver decided we needed to increase solar production to meet the demand of the additional power requirements.
This time around, we installed a larger 30kW SolarEdge system, and added panels totalling over 55kWp! This installation is featured on the home page of our website.
Over the last year of running, despite part of it being downtime while we upgraded the system, our Client has saved an average of £4000/month on his energy bills - despite usage going up and prices increasing! This means that the total cost of the system has already paid itself off, since it's initial installation in 2024!
